Principal's Message

Dear San Miguel Families and Community Members,

All of us at San Miguel Elementary School want to make this a successful year for your child. We are so very proud of all of our hardworking staff and students and invite you as parents, grandparents and our extended community members to be involved at San Miguel Elementary School: Emphasis on Visual and Performing Arts.

Our school theme for the 2016-2017 is making learning visible through increased focus on academic discourse in the classroom, through the lenses of the Arts.   We will be participating in increased English Language Development training, working with students in creating more opportunities for language usage in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

We want to prepare every student with essential skills and knowledge that will open doors of opportunity and promote their success in our ever-changing world and our staff is fully committed to this challenge.  I am a big believer that there is power in numbers and when we work together, our students will thrive. There is an old African proverb which says, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” Our community has a great opportunity to support, nurture, and care for our students, as that village, to provide an environment that encourages each child to be respectful, responsible, and safe to maximize their learning progress and life experiences.

If you are interested in how to get involved, please see your child’s teacher, inquire within the office, or check our school website under PTA. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
